Brewster Academy Virtual Tour

Brewster Academy was founded in 1820 by local citizens who raised funds to erect a "building for higher education." The Academy eventually served surrounding towns as a regional high school. In 1887 its name changed from Wolfeborough and Tuftonborough Academy to Brewster Free Academy in honor of John Brewster (1812-1886), who had endowed the school, and boarding students were admitted. In 1965, a regional public high school was established nearby in Wolfeboro, and Brewster became a private secondary school. In 2001, Brewster Academy joined forces with the Heifetz International Music Institute.
