Longtime Heifetz Institute Communication faculty member, Chic Street Man is a guitarist and singer who transforms cultural barriers through music with a message of racial harmony and ethnic diversity. He recorded his first album in France in 1975, and on his return to the U.S. he founded Chic Street Man’s School of Performing Arts in Santa Barbara,CA. He has performed at the United Nations and at various international festivals. Chic composed and starred in the Off-Broadway hit, Spunk, adapted from stories by Zora Neale Hurston, receiving both Audelco and NAACP Theatre Arts awards. He remains an innovator, collaborating with artists in theatre and film while continuing a recording and performing career.
