The First Act/Heifetz Institute partnership is dedicated to inspiring and
enabling young people to experience the joy of making music. The First
Act Scholarship Program provides full scholarships to qualified applicants. If

Students ages range from 14 to 25. However, students of all ages are welcome to apply, as exceptions may be considered on a case by case basis.
Six-week program including room, board, and tuition: $5,200
The application deadline for 2010 Heifetz Institute is January 15, 2010. Late applications may be considered based upon space availability.
Scholarship money is available to qualified students.
Early applications are given first priority consideration. Students must complete the Scholarship Application Form and send it with two required attachments to the office before the application deadline, January 15, 2010. Students applying for scholarship from the Heifetz Institute are encouraged to apply for the First Act Scholarship Program.
Please investigate your local community (schools, religious groups, arts or civic organizations, and private donors) for alternate sources of financial aid.
Either a live audition or a DVD audition is required.
Three copies of a recent DVD showing two contrasting movements (either from different pieces or from the same piece) of the applicant's choice (one of a virtuosic nature).
Accompaniment is optional. Please list directly on the DVD's cover your name, the name of the composer(s) and title of works performed on the recording.
Live auditions for the 2010 Heifetz Institute will be held in Cleveland, New York, Baltimore,and Boston .

Applications must be submitted by January 15, 2010 with a non-refundable fee of $75. Late applications will be considered depending upon space availability. Upon acceptance to the Institute, the full tuition will be due by April 15, 2010. There are no refunds under any circumstances after May 15, 2010.
