Scholarship money is available to qualified students. 


Scholarship Application Requirements

Early applications are given first priority consideration.  Students must include a letter of request with the application.  In your letter, provide annual household income, circumstances that require assistance, and amount requested.  Students applying for scholarship from the Heifetz Institute may also apply for the First Act Scholarship Program.

Please investigate your local community (schools, religious groups, arts or civic organizations, and private donors) for alternate sources of financial aid.


Audition Requirements

Either a live audition or a recent video of the applicant in DVD or VHS format (audio tapes or CD's will not be accepted) of two contrasting works of the applicant's choice (one of a virtuosic nature). Accompaniment is optional. Please list directly on the DVD or VHS or its cover the name of the composer(s) and title of works performed on the recording.


Live Auditions

Live auditions for the 2008 Heifetz Institute are now closed. Auditions for the 2009 Heifetz International Music Institute will be posted in the fall of 2008. Thank you for your interest.

- Boston completed on December 11, 2007 at the New England Conservatory
- New York completed on February 10, 2008 at Yamaha Artist Services, Inc.
- Baltimore completed on February 14, 2008 at the Peabody Institute

A pianist is not provided for auditions and is not required.
Please arrive 1/2 hour prior to your scheduled audition time to check in and warm up.

Applications must be submitted by March 1, 2008 with a non-refundable fee of $75. Late applications will be considered depending upon space availability. Upon acceptance to the Institute, the full tuition will be due by April 15, 2008. There are no refunds under any circumstances after May 15, 2008.
