Support the Heifetz Music and Mission in 2016 Before Time Runs Out!
“Fast away the old year passes,
Hail the new, ye lads and lasses!
Laughing, quaffing all together,
Heedless of the wind and weather!”
– Nos Galan (“New Year’s Eve”) – Welsh Carol, 1794, now known as “Deck the Halls.”
At the Heifetz Institute, we’re looking back on an amazing Twentieth Anniversary year of 2016 – twelve months of musical activity here in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and far afield, thanks to the eight weeks of Heifetz On Tour. All in all, Heifetz Institute musicians presented no fewer than 118 musical events in eight states in 2016, in venues as familiar as our freshly-renovated Francis Auditorium at our Mary Baldwin University home (or perhaps under the now-iconic “Heifetz Hootenanny Tent”), to schools, senior centers, churches, and even taprooms, general stores, and an outdoor farmer’s market! Take a look at our Top Ten Videos of 2016 to relive some particularly memorable musical moments. (And at this time of year, you might also enjoy viewing our Heifetz Holiday Playlist on our YouTube channel!)
We’re looking forward to an even more exciting 2017, more tours and institutional partnerships, an expanded summer roster of outstanding faculty (including a residency by the Borromeo String Quartet,) and the expansion of our unique new HeifetzPEG program for exceptional young performers aged 9-13.
But first, before we say Auld Lang Syne to 2016, you have one last chance to support the Heifetz Institute this year.
If you prefer to make your donation by mail, there’s time for that, too! Just make sure your check is dated Dec. 31, 2016 or earlier, and send it to our mailing address of PO Box 2447, Staunton, VA 24402. You can also visit our HQ and Gift Shop in person. You can also make a gift of stock or securities (“One of the most tax-efficient ways to give” – Fidelity Investments) – or take advantage of the now-permanent IRA Charitable Rollover provision.
Your charitable, tax-deductible donation is the only way that we can create a life-changing Shenandoah summer experience for our students. So please Strike the harp, join the chorus, and follow us in merry measure: We can’t do it without you! Your gift represents your faith in the power of music, and the vision of our Founder and Artistic Director Daniel Heifetz that great classical music played by some of the world’s finest young musicians truly can Communicate – Engage – Inspire.
THANK YOU for making 2016 such a memorable year – and here’s to an even greater 2017!
