Draw your bow, and take a bow, Yiming Mao! This #Heifetz2017 student save some of the best for last, offering both a charming introduction and jaw-dropping performance of Hollywood composer Franz Waxman’s inspired arrangement of George Bizet’s timeless opera Carmen. As you’ll hear, Yiming’s appearance with pianist Beilin Han was the last piece on a program during the last week of the 2017 Heifetz Institute.
Yiming will be back in HeifetzLand during the last month of 2017, too – part of a quartet of 2017 alums performing on this year’s edition of the “Heifetz Holiday Tour,” including prize-winning violinist Ji-Won Song, violist Molly Wise, and cellist Noémie Raymond-Friset. Joining them: soprano Angel Azzarra, and Heifetz faculty pianist Stefan Petrov.
Their performances will include appearances at the iconic Blackfriars Playhouse in Staunton, a picturesque winery in Northern Virginia, and wrapping up at the stunning Linehan Concert Hall at UMBC in Baltimore!
