For me, there are no words to describe the beauty of Schumann’s music – and that’s not just because my English is not very good.” – Cellist Mo Mo
Our Video of the Week takes us back to the Heifetz Institute’s very first Sunday concert at our home base in Staunton, Virginia, which included this short “double play,” by cellist Mo Mo and pianist Carlos Avila. The duo plays one of the sublime “Fantasy Pieces” by Robert Schumann, followed by the lightning-fast Humoresque by 20th-century cello legend Mstislav Rostropovich. Prepare to be delighted – and then dazzled!
Mo Mo will be back for the summer of 2018 as one of our superb alumni Artists in Residence, while our Sunday concerts have a new twist: We’ll be sharing the magic of a Heifetz performance in a different city in the Commonwealth as part of our new Sundays in Virginia concert series. Remember, if you enjoy our Video of the Week feature, you can check out the entire series here – and subscribe to get them in your inbox every week!
