Dear Heifetz Fans & Friends,
It is with regret that we announce that the upcoming Heifetz on Tour events in Maryland and Washington DC have been cancelled. Recent developments with COVID-19 have put our venues and partner institutions on alert, including Governor Hogan of Maryland declaring a state of emergency. We have decided that in the best interest of our patrons, we will take the precaution of canceling this weekend’s Heifetz on Tour concerts (March 13-14-15), including this Friday’s scheduled performance at the Ryoji Ueno Foundation’s Evermay Concert Series in Washington’s Georgetown neighborhood. The Ueno Foundation is issuing full refunds to patrons, and we plan to reschedule these events at a future date.
Heifetz concerts are intended to be community events that bring music lovers together to form a dynamic connection between performers and audiences. As such, we are committed to prioritizing and protecting the well-being of our musicians and audiences alike. We appreciate your understanding, though we know this decision is a disappointing one for us all.
As of today, we expect to hold our upcoming events in Staunton, Virginia (The Heifetz Spring Hootenanny on March 19; Bach Around the Clock on March 21) as scheduled, and we are making every effort to live stream the concerts so that audiences worldwide may still enjoy the inspired performances.
Thank you for your continued support, and we wish you good health in the coming months.
