Violinist Kayleigh Kim attended the Heifetz Institute in 2019, and she is also an alumna of HeifetzPEG. Kayleigh is 15 years old and student of Catherine Cho in the Juilliard Pre-College program.
Kayleigh is a 1st place winner in the MTNA Virginia competition, NVMTA Concerto Competition, and the Feder Memorial String Competition. She also won the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition and the Indiana University Concerto Competition, performing as a soloist with these ensembles. Besides being a National Symphony Orchestra Youth Fellow, Kayleigh Kim has served as concertmaster in the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras from 2015 to 2019.
This past summer, Kayleigh had the privilege of performing a duet arrangement of the Star Spangled Banner at Nationals Park for an MLB game as a part of the Heifetz Institute’s outreach program. Kayleigh has performed at Carnegie Hall, Strathmore Hall, the Twin Oaks Estate, Merkin Hall, and the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage.
