Kenneth Ryu Takebe Naito has performed in many venues including Weill Recital Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Franz Liszt House in Weimar, Terrace Theater at Kennedy Center, National Gallery of Art in DC, German Consulate in NYC, and the Embassy of Japan in Washington DC.
Kenneth made his concerto debut at age 11, performing the Bruch Violin Concerto with the Kostroma Symphony Orchestra in Russia. Since then, Kenneth has won many concerto competitions including the United States Army Orchestra High School Young Artist competition in 2016, performing the Bruch Scottish Fantasy, and the Junior and Senior Division for the Columbia Orchestra (MD) Young Artist Program, performing the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto and Prokofiev Violin Concerto No.1 with them. Kenneth was chosen to be a student artist for the prestigious 2017 Starling-DeLay Symposium at The Juilliard School. Most recently, Kenneth won the 1st prize at Kennett Symphony Young Artist Competition and will perform with the Kennett Symphony Orchestra in their 2019 season.
Kenneth has appeared as soloist with the Eurasia Chamber Orchestra in Berlin, the National Philharmonic Orchestra (MD), and the Londontowne Symphony Orchestra (MD). As a chamber musician, Kenneth has performed with many student groups at The Juilliard School and various summer music festivals. In 2007, he performed as 1st violin with the Jerusalem Quartet at their public masterclass sponsored by Ryuji Ueno Foundation. As a recitalist, Kenneth has performed at the Embassy of Japan in Washington DC for the ASEAN Ambassadors, and at private dinners for the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, the U.S. Secretary of Housing, and Urban Development, and many other dignitaries. As an orchestral musician, Kenneth has served as concertmaster for the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra with guest conductor Maestro Robert Spano in 2018.
Kenneth is currently a freshman at The Juilliard School studying violin with Professor Li Lin. Kenneth previously studied with Professors Naoko Tanaka and Shirley Givens at The Juilliard School, Pre-college Division, graduating in May, 2018. Kenneth currently plays on a 1780 Nicola Gagliano loaned by the Ryuji Ueno Foundation.
