“Heifetz on Tour” provides outstanding career development opportunities for Heifetz Institute alumni.
Beyond its world-renowned summer program on the campus of Mary Baldwin University, the Heifetz Institute offers its signature “Heifetz on Tour” program, designed to create real-world performance and outreach opportunities for promising young alumni, both in our home region in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, as well as with partner institutions on the East Coast, ranging from the Jamestown Arts Center near Newport, Rhode Island to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
Our recent Heifetz On Tour concerts and residencies have included appearances in Charlotte, NC at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art; Dobbs Ferry, NY with the Performers of Westchester; Boca Raton, FL at St. Andrew’s School; Washington, DC at the Kreeger Museum of Art; as well as in private concerts in Massachusetts, New Hamprshire, New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Washington, DC, and up and down the Shenandoah Valley.
Each round of Heifetz on Tour takes a small group of alumni on a week-long journey to perform together in venues ranging from schools in underserved communities to first-rate museums and concert halls, as well as to audition for some of the nation’s top conductors.
