“Heifetz On Tour” is coming to the Nation’s Capital – and we would love to see you there!
As part of the Institute’s 20th Anniversary celebration, a quartet of our brilliant alums will perform a special concert at the renowned Kreeger Museum in Washington DC on Thursday night, March 17th, 2016, at 7:30 pm.
Performing musical masterpieces among the visual modern masterworks at the Kreeger will be Heifetz Institute alumni Yezu Woo, violin; Emma Wernig, viola; Coleman Itzkoff, cello, and faculty pianist Anton Smirnoff. They will present a program of dazzling virtuoso works, as well as chamber music classics, ranging from the inspirational solo works of J.S. Bach to the passion and fire of Beethoven and Brahms.
Tickets are just $25, ($20 for Kreeger Museum members) and may be reserved online here, or by calling the Kreeger’s reservation line at (202) 338-3552.
The artists are touring to raise awareness for the Heifetz Institute’s Shenandoah Scholarship Campaign matching-grant challenge: If the Institute can raise $100,000 for scholarships before March 31st, 2016, it will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Heifetz Institute Board. If successful, the $200,000 raised will enable the Institute to provide scholarship assistance for more than 50% of students attending the 2016 Summer Institute – our 20th anniversary season.
The Shenandoah Scholarship Campaign was inspired by our goal to bring deserving students from all over the globe – regardless of their ability to pay – to Staunton and the Shenandoah Valley for a summer at the Institute that is guaranteed to change their lives. I hope you can join us at the Kreeger to witness first-hand how these young artists embody the Heifetz Institute’s mission to “Communicate, Engage, and Inspire,” through our unique Heifetz Performance and Communication Training program.
