Nobuko Imai, one of the finest violists of our time, studied at the Toho School of Music, Yale, and Juilliard. She then won top prizes at prestigious international competitions in Munich and Geneva. Formerly a member of the esteemed Vermeer Quartet, Ms. Imai now has a distinguished international solo career and has appeared with many of the world’s major orchestras. In 2003 she formed the Michelangelo Quartet, one of the top quartets in the world. Ms. Imai teaches at the conservatories of Geneva and Amsterdam, Kronberg International Academy, and Ueno Gakuen University in Tokyo.
