Student Activities & Transportation – $150.00
- Guaranteed transportation to and from IAD, CHO, or SHD airports and STA or CVS train stations
- Weekly student activities (ranging from hiking trips around the Shenandoah Valley to residence hall pizza parties)
- Transportation to and from student activity locations
Technology and Photocopying/Music Library Fee/Licensing Fee – $70.00
- Access to campus-wide wireless internet (Must have U.S. cell phone number)
- Access to the Heifetz Institute music library and photocopying privileges, including payment of compulsory licenses to music publication agencies
Medical Services – $60.00
- Access to on-campus nurse office
- 24/7 coverage and transportation to and from local health care facilities, including emergency room service

- Mandatory for access to on-campus dining facilities
- Free admission to local YMCA

Ashkenasi / Kirshbaum Chamber Music Seminar
The Ashkenasi/Kirshbaum Chamber Music Seminar is a seven-week program of intense and highly focused study of masterworks of the chamber music literature, open to advanced violin, viola, and cello students interested in a summer of highly focused study of the masterworks of the chamber music literature. Pre-formed string quartets and piano trios preparing for professional careers are encouraged to apply. For 2020 the Seminar will continue to be 100% tuition free for successful applicants.

Scholarships and Financial Aid
Full and partial scholarships are available to qualified students. Every successful applicant to the Heifetz Institute is automatically eligible for up to $2000 in merit scholarship awards. Students wishing to be considered for a great amount of financial aid will be required to fill out the Financial Aid portion of the application thoroughly and carefully. The Heifetz Institute application fee cannot be waived and is not subject to financial assistance.
We also recommend that you investigate grant and scholarship opportunities within your community (schools, religious groups, arts or civic organizations, community foundations, and private donors) for alternate sources of financial aid.
Audition Requirements
Applicants are required to submit two recent videos to the Heifetz International Music Institute portal via Acceptd. For full details about audition requirements, click here.
Ages
The Heifetz Institute typically accepts students between the ages of 14 and 27. However, the Heifetz Institute does not discriminate on the basis of age, and students of all ages are welcome to apply.
Deadline
The application deadline is February 2, 2020. Late applications will be accepted if space is available. Submit your application by December 31, 2019 to save $15 on your application fee.
