Praised by the Miami Herald after her performance with the Miami Symphony Orchestra as “a clearly gifted and promising artist with a strong musical instincts and a flawless technique,” Tian Lu was subsequently invited to be guest artist at the Aruba International Piano Festival and the Duxbury music festival. A piano faculty member of the Heifetz International Music Institute during the summers of 2012 and 2013, Ms. Lu has appeared as concerto soloist, recitalist, chamber musician and duo pianist throughout Asia, the United States, Europe and South America.
Orchestral appearances include the Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra (Ukraine), Venezuela Symphonica, Concert Artists of Baltimore, Maracaibo Philharmonic Orchestra, Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, Sioux City Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Lu was invited to be the Jury member of Chopin Youth international piano competition in China in 2014. Highlights of 2015-2016 season include a tour in Asia (Japan, China) and in May 2016, she and her husband, pianist Yury Shadrin, will make their duo-piano recital debut at the Kennedy Center, in a concert presented by the Washington Performing Arts Society.
Tian Lu received her Bachelors and Artist Diploma at Oberlin Conservatory studying with Monique Duphil. Ms. Lu currently mentored by Leon Fleisher at the Peabody Institute.
